This week, discover the issuance of smart cards directly in stores by BNP Paribas Personal Finance*.
Findomestic* has developed an in-house solution for instant production of EMV multi-application smart cards.
The system permits customisation of smart cards via two applications: an EMV payment application and an application that combines the payment system with a retailer loyalty program. Retailers can immediately issue the pre-activated card and customers can immediately benefit from the loyalty program and the advantages of the card. As a result, cardholders can take advantage of the benefits of the card immediately, with face-to-face explanations to enable them to better understand the privileges offered by the card. In addition, on-site issuance reduces instances of fraud, theft or loss.
According to estimates by Findomestic, VISA and Mastercard, the approach potentially increases the issuance of cards by between 50% and 120% and lowers the cancellation rate by 25%.
