BNP Paribas Wealth Management Announces Senior Appointments

BNP Paribas Wealth Management today announces a number of senior appointments in the region, as part of its strategy to capture the growth momentum in Asia.

Andy Chai joins BNP Paribas Wealth Management today as Head of Hong Kong market. In this new role, Andy will oversee the anchor market of BNP Paribas Wealth Management Asia, and lead the team to drive business growth in Hong Kong. Andy brings with him extensive experience in the fields of wealth management, private equity, corporate finance and consulting.

Prior to joining BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Andy worked for various financial institutions including HSBC, China International Capital Corporation, Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch. Andy got his Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of British Columbia, Bachelor and Master of Arts in Law degrees from University of Cambridge, Trinity College, and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from College of Law London.

Marie-Christine Cormier is appointed Head of Credit, BNP Paribas Wealth Management, Asia Pacific, effective 1st January 2012. She will be based in Hong Kong. In her new capacity, Marie-Christine will be in charge of credit and risk management for the business.

Marie-Christine is a veteran of the BNP Paribas Group. During her 30 years with the company, Marie-Christine has held various senior positions in the areas of Credit and Corporate Banking during which she was posted in Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Paris respectively. Prior to this new role, Marie-Christine was Head of Credit Management, South East Asia. Marie-Christine obtained her Master of Law degree from University of Lyon, France, and Master of Comparative Law degree from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana USA.

Gerry Xie joined BNP Paribas Wealth Management on 30 November 2011 as Head of Wealth Management China Onshore market. Based in Shanghai, Gerry will lead the Wealth Management team of BNP Paribas China Ltd to tap into the burgeoning China market.

Gerry brings with him solid experience. Before joining BNP Paribas, Gerry was Head of Credit Suisse China Onshore Private Banking. Prior to that Gerry was Deputy Branch Manager of HSBC Shanghai Branch. Gerry obtained his Bachelor degree of International Trade from Shanghai University, and International MBA degree from University of Herefordshire United Kingdom.
