We are aware of a recent attempt to imitate a BNP Paribas email address. This attempt uses a misspelled version of the Bank’s name so as to imitate an email sent from BNP Paribas. We assume that this is a “phishing” or “social engineering” attempt and have informed the relevant authorities. We would urge our clients to be vigilant in respect of this type of activity.
If you doubt the authenticity of any e-mail apparently received from BNP Paribas, you should contact the officer of BNP Paribas with whom you ordinarily deal immediately. You should, however, be careful to use the normal method by which you contact us, rather than use any suggestions included in, or by responding to, the suspicious e-mail. We will never send unsolicited e-mail messages asking our customers to provide, update or verify personal or security details.
