2024 APAC Long Internship – Global Markets – AMM Strategists – Hong Kong

Our 6-month internship programme will provide you with training and dedicated support as you develop an in-depth knowledge of specific areas of the banking sector. During your time with us you will shadow our teams of industry leading specialists which will give you close exposure to the business. Most importantly you will gain an understanding of your own skills and the future direction you wish to take.

For:    Third or penultimate year undergraduates in any disciplines from a recognized university
Duration:    6 months
Start date:    January – June 2024

Who can apply?
To be considered for the placement, you will:

  • Apply as a third or penultimate year undergraduate in any discipline; 
  • On track for a GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0 or above (or equivalent) in any discipline; 
  • Be available to work as full time from January to June 2024; 
  • Have to be fluent in spoken and written English; and 

What you will do?

  • Proactively manage the production platform by: 
    – leveraging software engineering to eliminate operational work via automation 
    – optimizing system architecture to maintain operational efficiency 
    – conducting thorough but blameless post-mortems to help guide the evolution of the platform
  • Develop and maintain an expansive library of automatons and alpha models; monitoring and production tools used in the trading platform
  • Develop and maintain the simulation tools and back testing environment used to test and validate strategies 
  • Contribute to the enforcement of adequate risk filters for each automaton to prevent abnormal behaviour
  • Organize and monitor the orderly production of automatons during trading hours.
  • Monitor, investigate, and improve performances of trading strategies.
  • Contribute to the research and design of optimal setup for each set of strategies.
  • Coordinate and test infrastructure changes, as implemented by the Group IT and Production teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related discipline required 
  • Keen interest in software development using C++ 
  • Familiarity with Python/Scripting language 
  • Strong interest in real-time and multi-threaded programming / network programming 
  • Takes initiative and is results driven 
  • Strong decision making and analytical skills 
  • Ability to manage change and complexity with confidence 
  • Strong team player 
  • Client focused and commercial thinking 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Prior related internship within the banking industry is an advantage
