Position Purpose
The role is responsible for supporting the Chief of Staff / Business Management activities, with a primary focus but not limited to the management and oversight of the financials, for the CIB APAC COO organization (incl. ITO, CCCO, Finance and APAC Transformation).  Direct reporting line to the Chief of Staff of CIB APAC COO.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Steering & Management
Direct management of financials for CIB APAC ITO Quality & Efficiencies (Q&E) cluster; and responsible for all aspects of financial monitoring and control within CIB APAC COO scope (i.e. IT & Operations incl. Local COO, Finance, CCCO and APAC Transformation), including but not limited to:
  • Monthly monitoring and control of Actuals (headcounts, OPEX and CAPEX) at both individual cluster / team and overall CIB APAC COO levels.  Maintain necessary governance and propose optimization of current processes to ensure:
-Data quality of the reporting received (Flash and Business Reviews)
-Timely analysis of variances and follow-up of any remedial actions with the respective teams
-Periodic reporting to CIB APAC COO
  • Responsible for the tracking and control of any Budget Transfers and exceptional arrangements throughout the year
  • Lead the annual Budget and Forecast process for the CIB APAC COO teams, in close liaison with APAC PMOs and Finance Performance Steering and Central stakeholders (e.g. Finance, ITO Q&E)
  • Oversee the annual review of Allocation Keys (Step-2 / programmes; Step-4); lead and prepare the annual Allocated Cost presentations to Metiers with the ITO teams
  • Oversee and ensure proper governance of WIP / accruals and provisions (complying with accounting norms) at individual cluster / team and CIB APAC COO levels respectively
  • Support and advise on the financial requirements of strategic projects, e.g. Smart sourcing initiatives, China Plan and Gift City etc.
  • Contribute or be the APAC SPOC to regional and global financial-related initiatives where necessary.  Recent examples include Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Regional IT (RegIT) process review
  • Support Chief of Staff to promote consistency, communication, alignment and optimization, especially across the CIB APAC COO teams
Contribution to other Business Management activities if and when necessary.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, accompanied by a numeric mindset driven by accuracy and precision
  • Strong and demonstrated financial steering skills, with experience in driving and managing large-scale and complex budget
  • Accounting concepts including capitalization, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word), and excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
