BNP Paribas in Hong Kong About BNP Paribas

Project WeCan

BNP Paribas has been supporting Project WeCan, a business-in-community initiative organised by the Wharf Group, since 2014. BNP Paribas helps Man Kiu College to acquire the necessary facilities and services for its self-development and learning programmes. BNP Paribas’ staff is also encouraged to take their CSR leave to participate in a series of volunteer and exchange programmes with the school.

Since 2011, Project WeCan was established as an open platform for business sponsors to work closely with schools through financial commitment and/or volunteering support for the benefit of their students who lack support and resources. This programme aims to empower the students with opportunities and programmes that will nurture their confidence, as well as to inspire them to pursue higher education and develop a fulfilling career in the future. By September 2014, the number of schools being supported has increased three folds, from 14 to 44.

Sponsored by the BNP Paribas Foundation and organised by Kely Support Group, RISE Up is a new Dream Up programme commenced in October 2018.  It aims to help ethnic minority young people from deprived districts in Hong Kong develop life skills and resilience along with creative photography skills.

Participating students will be equipped with techniques to tell their own and other’s stories through photography.  Moreover, they will learn skills to face obstacles in adolescence and tactics to overcome these problems.

It is currently running in 30 countries on five continents and benefiting 20,000 children and young people each year.
