What is this position about?

Account Management team plays a critically important role in partnering and supporting Front-Office to onboard clients, open new accounts (which is a business strategic priority) and to manage the client account lifecycle (account opening, review/ recertification). 

What would be your typical day at BNPP Paribas look like? 

Account Specialists will work closely with Relationship Managers and with other stakeholders such as Client Management and Compliance to ensure that the whole client account lifecycle management is performed consistently, in compliance with regulatory and internal policies, and at the same time in an efficient manner, notably with a high level of quality and a quick turn-around time. 

Account Specialists may be in direct contact with the clients in order to smoothen the entire flow and attain a seamless client experience, in coordination and under the close supervision of the relevant RMs. In terms of process, Account Specialists will act as the 1st level (“Maker”), while Client Management will be the checkers.  

The Account Management team is under the COO domain, and has a strong link with Clusters / Markets.

Primary Role Responsibilities

Account Opening / Account Review 

– Ensure that the onboarding and review requirements are in accordance to Bank’s AML/KYC standards and regulatory requirements

– Ensure the relevance and completeness of KYC information (in partnership with the RM) and performs appropriate due diligence checks and information searches

– Review and corroborate KYC information submitted by RM and/or directly from client

– Assist RM in completing the Client Acceptance Form, Client profiling in ICE or any relevant inquiries/ tasks as well as related checklists, forms and reports related to the account  to allow approval of the account

– Oversight the end-to end account opening/ review process of the account. Engage appropriately and efficiently with other relevant stakeholders such as Compliance and Client Management if necessary to enable account opening/ review are completed in an efficient and timely manner

– Escalate any red flag/ alerts timely if appropriate and follow up with the RM on client onboarding/client review related matters and for escalated/prioritized cases

Other contributions

Client contact & Administrative support for Account management matters only 

•    Answer clients’ phone calls in a professional and prompt manner; ensure proper follow-up until the enquiries are addressed. Have an appropriate understanding of the client’s background

•    Meet clients (under RM supervision) and/or provide assistance in organizing client meetings for account management matters only

•    Prepare documentation for clients with a high standard of care and diligence

•    Lodge promptly and accurately the contact reports, get them reviewed by the account manager/Team Head/Market Head (as and when applicable or required)

•    Take care of queries from internal/ external parties

Change Management Support

– Prepare reports for management reporting to facilitate relevant reviews and strengthen the control procedures and process

– Provide feedback and suggestions to relevant parties to improve the processes. Strive for continuous improvement to enhance the efficiencies of the processes in order to meet the KPI collectively with different stakeholders.

– Communicate to RMs on a need-to-know basis of any changes impacting the Account Management work processes

Control Aspects

•    Responsible for the implementation of operational permanent control policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities.

•    Comply with regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.

•    Responsible for reporting all incidents in relation to Account Mgt matters according to the internal policy

Essential qualifications & experience

  • A degree in HR Management/ Business Admin/ Information Technology, Finance or a related field
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years’ work experience in a HR function, project management, HR reporting and control as well as HRIS

APAC F&RS is dedicated to the design, build, implementation and business support of IT solutions to service the needs of FINANCE and RISK functions, achieved by retaining highly skilled, functional and technical experts that work in active, continuous collaboration.

Our team, APAC F&RS Local Regulatory Reporting Project and Solution, aims to strengthen the regulatory reporting platform of all APAC locations, by leveraging the regional knowledge (data management, reporting tools, and regulatory practices) to mitigate local regulatory risk in cost efficient manner.

To fulfill the dynamic regulatory requirements, the team has grown to have around 40 members. We are constituted of diversified profiles in building the synergy; Software engineer, business analyst, data manager & project manager are worked closely with collaborative & innovative culture, supported by the latest technology and management approach.

The in-house platform, Flexel, is a highly flexible and user-friendly Regulatory Reporting Platform, supporting 700+ Finance and Operation’s regulatory reports across 9 countries. The wide spectrum of reports include but not limited to – Balance Sheet, P&L, Large Exposure, Granular Data Repository, BASEL III reporting (e.g. LCR) and that makes up the massive user community.

Responsibilities

Process Reengineering and Platform Development:

  • Design and build robust, high‑performance regional regulatory reporting platform.
  • Maintain the platform and establish proper governance model to uplift code quality and security according to the technology strategy and group standard BNPP.
  • Monitor technical‑design effectiveness; assess risk/impact for AS‑IS and TO‑BE states
  • Provide technology ideas and approaches on functional and technical level, considering both the trend and best practices in the industry and standard and strategy of BNPP
  • Create and manage a governance to review and uplift the quality and security of code

Regional Regulatory Reporting Project:

  • Transform business needs into high quality system architecture and design;
  • Design, develop and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical solutions for regulatory reporting;

Development Management:

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Essential Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven experience in financial/regulatory reporting systems development projects on large-scale multi-region applications.
  • Strong hands-on Java development. Extensive experience building secure, RESTful services with Spring Boot (security, data access, testing).
  • Strong hands-on in Angular frontend development; proficient with RESTful APIs, JavaScript, CSS, TypeScript, Node.js.
  • Solid understanding of database design, SQL/ TSQL, data structure & data modelling; expertise with at least one major RDBMS (Oracle preferred) and associated best practices.
  • Practical knowledge of data science tools such as Apache Spark and Alteryx, and BI Tools such as PowerBI.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and enterprise-architecture concepts.

  • Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and influence technical direction.

  • Fluency in English (verbal/written) and with excellent communication & interpersonal skills; capable of translating complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.

Specific Qualifications 

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or any other related subjects
  • 12+ years of experience in software design and development in Banking or Financial Industry, preferably Regulatory Reporting / Finance / Risk IT domain
  • Experience in data analysis, standardized project implementation

Responsibilities

ROLE DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

  • Provision of secretarial and administrative support to Regional Function Heads, Sales, Business leads and team members (e.g. APAC COO, CFO, Compliance).
  • To support COO APAC on Facility matters, ensuring efficient functioning of the HK office operation and administration with seamless coordination with the Bank Facility Department and external vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

Position Purpose

BNP Paribas’ Global Markets business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rates, credit, currency, equities & commodity markets. Global Markets help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organizations.

The SPB trading desk sits with the Prime Trading business of Global Markets and offers clients access to markets across APAC. The role holder will be primarily responsible for trading swaps and managing hedging requirements for the market access flow across APAC markets.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

  • Book Management
    • Ensure positions, risks and PnL are correctly represented, with breaks and discrepancies are accounted for in a timely manner and correctly reflected in relevant systems and reports.
    • Correctly mitigate and hedge against risks that arise on the book from client and trading activities.
    • Manage all expiries including TRS, NDFs and other derivatives.
    • Oversee all booking activity and associated risks, working together with operations and trading assistant teams
  • FX hedging
    • Hedge and price all FX exposures between client and trading activities from compo products, including daily trading, deals, dividends, etc.
    • Manage funding needs for local-ccy compo products and optimize funding positions where possible.
    • Ensure cash accounts are adequately and efficiently funded for settlement, adhering to custody account rules.
  • Other daily run the book tasks

Contributing Responsibilities

Trading

  • Sourcing and distributing inventory via IDB in China (and some Taiwan) with growth potential in this area including expanding active counterparties / direct lines, generating files
  • Manage China delta including hedging using single stock proxy hedges, index swaps
  • Manage recall process and issue manual recalls to clients
  • Control China trading parameters and processes, ranging from OP / short pricing and rerates, inventory that we show in files, locates parameters etc.

Reporting

  • PnL reporting including tracking of fees, enhancing daily flash, summaries by country
  • Work to enhanced book tracking on positions and pnl, for e.g. on bespoke arrangements with clients, internal funding / inventory costs etc, working together with pricing analytics team. 
  • Work closely with (hopefully) larger quant footprint to contribute to business analytics.
  • Help on building more useful Kawa dashboards for monitoring, presentation etc, which also frees up a bit of quant’s time to focus on development.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience trading APAC markets, and is familiar with a variety of trading products including FX Swap, Total Return Swap, Futures.
