The kdb/q Engineer will join a globally distributed team developing a set of Data and Analytics applications. The applications are deployed across all markets in Americas, EMEA and APAC regions normalizing our data capture, time series and analytical capabilities across regions. If you join the team, you will work on various development tasks depending on your skills and preferences. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support KDB market data ticker plant deployed worldwide
  • Every day coding in KDB/q, Java/Python is a plus
  • Work with the business to understand requirements and translate it into design
  • Work effectively in a flat compact and regionally distributed multi-skilled team 
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for delivery: working with other IT groups to define and deliver proper hardware infrastructure, deploy KDB components, work with Support teams to establish monitoring, etc.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will support the Chief Administrative Officer of Securities Services HK and will be accountable for activities related to Organization & Governance, Financials and other business management matters within CAO Office scope. Responsibilities will include but not limited to outsourcing / insourcing & procurement activities, management of recharges & other expenses, Financials analysis, and other corporate governance & business management activities. In/Outsourcing & Service Level Agreements (“SLA”):

  • Acting as Outsourcing Coordinator at Securities Services (“2S”) HK
  • Deploying Outsourcing risk management governance framework
  • Facilitating Outsourcing projects and engaging with relevant stakeholders
  • Performing regular monitoring & reporting
  • Keeping records of all SLAs with intra-group entities and third parties (excluding Clients)

Implementing a proper control framework for expenses (direct and indirect), including:

The Senior Data quality analyst will be playing a critical role in implementing operational data quality controls, providing ongoing monitoring and investigation of data quality issues and enabling continuous improvement. Primary Role and Responsibilities

•    Entry point data quality and integrity topics regarding client and referential data (coming from the users across all 12 APAC territories)

•    Act as control tower through proactive data quality monitoring, controls, data reconciliation and issue/break management.

•    Lead interactions with Data Providers/SMEs on activities related to data quality and help provide E2E data and process understanding

We are looking a Data quality analyst with Global Banking end-to-end data quality management experiences and be able to drive organizational change and operational solutions in the financial services environment:

–    Degree holder with 5 years’ experience of data quality management from investigation to remediation

POSITION PURPOSE

The Permanent Control framework at BNP Paribas aims at keeping our operations safe and continuously improving our business processes and practices. The Chief Conduct & Control Office (CCCO) positioned within the business acts as the First Line of Defence (1LOD) in BNP Paribas’ Permanent Control framework and plays a key role in strengthening our platforms as our activities expand or evolve.

Within the CCCO, the Front Office Conduct Surveillance (FOCS) is a detection an investigation team responsible for the monitoring of front office activity through the surveillance of trades, electronic & voice Communications. FOCS mission is to keep Front Officers aware of BNP Paribas Code of Conduct, detect deviations from acceptable business practices and escalate potential breaches for management action.

RESPONSIBILITIES

FOCS Contributions

  • Daily monitoring of Front Office activity to ensure that all relevant rules, regulations, group policies and procedures are adequately followed. The scope of FOCS monitoring encompasses E-communications, Voice calls and Trades; 
  • Investigation of alerts, clearing of false positives and timely processing of true positives for further analysis;
  • Escalation of potential breaches according to severity to the relevant management level and/or to Compliance (acting as 2nd Line of Defence (2LOD));
  • Close coordination with Compliance for the performance of Calibration (BLT e.g.) and Quality Assurance (QA) reviews and Permanent Challenge.
  • Precise and accurate documentation of the investigation results and record in the case management tool for audit purposes; close coordination with internal or external audit teams in the context of reviews of the activity. 
  • Provide expertise to Business Owners and 2LOD when required; provide support to Business Owners to ensure that managers have visibility on all relevant signals in relation to the Conduct and Control behaviour of their team members. 
  • Periodic review of controls (logic & calibration) with the aim to continuously improve and adapt the set-up to activities and market environment.
  • Design, test and deploy new controls to address emerging risks; Work in close collaboration with IT and other functions to improve the efficiency of the control framework.
  • Production of performance metrics and KPIs to (i) continuously monitor the efficiency of the surveillance framework and (ii) produce activity reports to Senior Management;
  • Documentation: Assist with the drafting or periodic review of the policies and procedures.
  • Front Office Trainings: Raise Front office awareness on Conduct risks, permanent Control and policies through dedicated business-oriented training sessions.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

  • Good understanding of financial markets products; 
  • Prior experience in CIB activities and financial market Equities: minimum 5-7 years of experience in the Front Office (Sales/Trading/ Investment Banking), Middle Office, or related Control, Audit, Compliance background relating to GM or IB activities.
  • Good understanding of Conduct risk and market misconduct concepts; prior experience in the utilization or design of surveillance tools, trading systems would be a plus
  • Assertive, agile, willing to learn and adapt to different situations.
  • Self-confident; able to challenge the status quo
  • Good organization skills and communication skills which is required to clearly articulate any surveillance/monitoring tools enhancement requirements when needed 
  • Fluency in English; Native language capabilities in the following languages is a plus: Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), Korean and/or Southeast Asian and Indian languages
  • Basic skills in coding (Python) and/or data analytics are a nice-to-have.

Direct Responsibilities:

1.Participate in the audit team assignments and special reviews (when required by regulators, business lines, or senior management)

-Contribute to the planning and preparation of the assignment e.g. understanding the methodology to be applied, acquiring a deep knowledge of the activities to be covered, understanding the detailed technologies, gathering relevant key figures, etc.

-Develop a thorough understanding of the activities within the scope of the assignment, its strategy and governance, and the related risks.

-Evaluate the overall setup and identify the main areas of risk (including a comprehensive assessment of the management actions).

-Execute detailed investigations leveraging on a strong technical knowledge in various IT systems (Databases, Operating systems Linux/Windows, Cybersecurity/Network security, Virtualization, containerization, Cloud Computing and related risks)

-Leverage on adequate programming languages and scripting to perform efficient investigations by automating analysis.

-Ensure the adequate learning and understanding of the standard IT solutions used in the IT infrastructure and production, Cybersecurity management in order to analyze adequately their configuration and be able to identify and raise potential risks.

-Recommend appropriate actions to the management in order to remediate the identified weaknesses.

-Formalize the results of the assignment investigations and contribute to the production of the assignment deliverables.

-Present the conclusions of the assignment fieldwork to the senior management.

2.Review the implementation of the Inspection Générale recommendations

-Review and challenge the actions defined to remediate the weaknesses identified by the audit team through its assignments.

-Ensure the adequacy of the answers to address permanently the gaps following accurately the recommended actions.

-Perform relevant control testing to ensure the proper implementation of the actions.

3.Contribute to the periodic risk assessment of IT activities and planning

-Perform a periodic and comprehensive risk assessment of the IT activities as per the Group guidelines.

-Keep abreast of change/new development of regulatory requirements that are relevant to IT activities and related functions.

-Assist in the elaboration of the IT audit planning following a risk-based approach.

Contributing Responsibilities:

-Contribute to the improvement of the Inspection Générale practices through the elaboration and update of our methodologies.

Technical and Behavioral Competencies required:

-Strong expertise in Cybersecurity. (IT security hands-on experience is a plus)

-Not less than 10 years of experience in external auditing / internal auditing / IT / risk / compliance / internal control / operations in the financial services industry.

-Professional Qualification/Certificate in Audit, e.g. CISA, CISSP, CISM, CCSP is a plus.
